In a report done by the Port Arthur News Mayor Oscar Ortiz said he was upset with the EDC decision that could have jeopardized the construction of two hotels and a restaurant. He would not provide any details on the restaurant.

He said he was considering a proposal to present to the City Council to do away with the EDC.

I wonder who on the Port Arthur City Council would support a proposal to do away with the Port Arthur EDC?

If the EDC isn't getting the job done do away with it...if they are ???

Remember, the people who serve on this board are probably appointments from the council memebers. It would be an interesting to watch if this proposal is considered.

Other city EDC's should should watch and learn.
