Vidor councilman wants recount

According to KBTV 4 and the Beaumont Enterprise, former Vidor Councilman wants a recount. The councilman lost by five votes last weekend. If I was him, I would ask for a recount too. But what caught my attention was this; He claims that his opponent, Mr. Morris is in violation of the city charter's guidelines for running for a city office.

If that's the case, why didn't the City Clerk do her research when Mr. Morris filed? Now all of a sudden the incumbent, the candidate who lost, is screaming violations.
