'New' news on on land by U.S. 69 and Beauxart Garden Road

The Beaumont Enterprise has reported that development is possible on land bordered by U.S. 69 and Beauxart Garden Road, formerly the proposed site of Sunset Village.

She {Killian) said the corporation now is working with a group, Newco, to use 35 acres of that tract, which is about 60 acres.

"It's the same process we've gone through before with other developers. Right now it is looking good," she said.

Killian said the plans for the development are somewhat different from past proposals.

She said it would have commercial development in front section of the tract and residential in the back.

"We're waiting for the conceptual drawings right now and the developers hope to make an official announcement about it several weeks from now," she said.
