Richard Vasser will be on probation for one year and pay a $500 fine on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
If he fails to comply with the terms of his probation, he faces 90 days in jail.

In related news, according to the Beaumont Enterprise, the door to County Court at Law No. 3 was locked at 1:25 p.m., and did not appear to have been unlocked until a bailiff called in jurors on an in-progress trial at about 1:40 p.m.
Vasser's hearing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
