Did anyone happen to notice Resolution 2008-02 that the Nederland City Council will be voting to approve at today's City Council meeting? The agenda(see below) states that the council will consider action approving Resolution No. 2008-02, prohibiting use of excessive force.
EXCESSIVE FORCE - A law enforcement officer has the right to use such force as is reasonably necessary under the circumstances to make a lawful arrest. An unreasonable seizure occurs when a law enforcement officer uses excessive force in making a lawful arrest.
Why would the Nederland City Council vote to prohibit the use of excessive force 2 days after an incident?
Coincidence? You decide.
