There was a Mid-County Municipal League meeting last week at the Nederland EDC building. Sources tell me Port Neches Fire Chief Steve Curran explained to the Mid County city leaders how the government grant worked and what it would be used for.

The grant means more security at our ports and better communications between departments
The grant would be used to upgrade the central dispatch station and create a master controller management site so Orange County, Hardin County, Mid-County and Jefferson County would be better able to communicate.

I urge these Mid County City Councils to vote to approve this grant.
