Result of the comsumption fee debate

The Nederland City Council voted to approve the $5.40 "consumption fee rate" effective on July 1, 2007. It was proposed to take effect January 1, 2007.

Council agreed to compromise with the business owners and residents for more time so that they could implement a strategy and create a financial plan.

The fee was implemented ten years ago but an "error" occured in which the fee was not being calculated during the ten year time span.
