GFDL Model released and my question

I'm not a professional in meteorology. I leave that to the pros. BUT on the other hand there was a model released (GFDL) that shows Hurricane Ike making landfall further North than what is being reported. If you are knowledable in meterology, please contact me to explain why this model, which I'm told is one of the reliable models, has it in our front yards while we sit here. Keep in mind this model is a model run for Josephine but also includes Hurricane Ike.
