Blogger Drama

Blogger Drama…Unleashed!
by
Jeffrey J. Ortiz

Wow! So what drama has unfolded with the bloggers, huh??!!?? Setpolitics offline…Mike Aguillar pissed off and well, Ms. Dugas is calling Philip Klein a “Stalker”. What in the world is going on?? So I bet all you “blogger fans” are wanting and craving the response from the “Wise One”. So here it goes:

Let’s begin ladies and gentlemen by recapping this week‘s “blogger drama”…first of all….I normally do not participate in what I call the “blog war of words” but I must address the recent actions of a local website.

Most of you have already read or heard of what Philip Klein has posted on his site, concerning Ms.Rhonda Dugas. Mr. Klein or one of his staffers have felt the need to drive by Ms. Dugas’s house to what he calls “checking up” on her….not only once but several times. One might ask me, “how would I know this?” To answer this question….recently while attending “the bloggers roundtable" on Mr. Klein‘s radio show it was mentioned (during a commercial break to the guest) that he or someone went by her home to “check up on her“! Hello folks, that’s weird! Nobody has the right to just pull up in someone’s front yard and start snapping photos and then post them on the internet for everyone to view. Who does that! I mean I might could see someone driving up to a house such as the “White House” and snapping photos but Rhonda Dugas’s Home! Come on!

Message by Ortiz:

Ladies and Gentlemen my message is one of concern. Maybe by all this the single mom’s out there can get a WIN here. Maybe we should give them a helping hand. What do you think?! Instead of “stalking” how about helping. Putting aside all political junk…and doing what good neighbors do…volunteering their time to help a person out. Jefferson County doesn’t need anything else but good neighbors. Are there any out there? Looking at the photo of Ms. Dugas’s home tells me a lot about single parent homes. I challenge Jefferson County to volunteer to help.

Message by Ortiz to Mr. Klein:

In your "Criminal" story last week you stated....

"So we sent one of our crack investigators to Ms. Dugas's homestead to get a picture of her very public residence" .Your Political Review site is not for your private investigations. It is to address politics. Ms. Dugas's home is not a political matter. I honestly thought you wouldn't stoop that low. I'm very disappointed. Everyone has an opportunity to run for a local office no matter if they live in their automobile or in an upscale home. It's not the size of a home or how much money you may or may not have. None of that matters. What matters is that Ms. Dugas is trying to represent what she may believe is important to the citizens. You have no right to attack a citizen who believes in democracy. Sir, we are all created equal in the eyes of our creator. Who are we to judge? You can get all the paperwork you want on a candidate and report on that. But YOU MAY NOT take pictures and post them on your political review site just for the sake of posting.

Mr. Klein, you stated:
"So we sent one of our crack investigators to Ms. Dugas's homestead to get a picture of her very public residence."

Then on Saturday you posted in your editorial that:
"The point – I took a picture (actually one of the neighbors emailed it to us one because it is an eyesore in the hood where she lives) of Rhonda’s house and published the picture. Our crack staff went out to verify the picture and took another to insure the story was correct – as well as the residence"

If this neighbor exists, prove it! Give us the name and address of the person with their knowledge, so we, local bloggers, may verify. (PLEASE DO NOT POST THE NEIGHBORS INFORMATION ONLINE. WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE CITIZEN PLEASE TELL HE OR SHE TO CALL) If you can not prove it everyone will think you or one of your investigators took the pictures.

Prove to us that Dugas's phone number is listed in the telephone book. (According to whitepages.com it is not there)

Prove that Dugas has filed bankruptcy with written documentation. When was bankruptcy a crime? Didn't you file bankruptcy?

I agree with Mr. Aguilar when he stated, "The thin line is going to someone’s home".

If you have already taken pictures of me or any of my family members you must let us know. I am not a candidate so you have NO REASON to be investigating me or any of my family members. And NO you may not use the excuse “I’m a public figure”.

Mr. Klein, no one is perfect.....
